I figured I would fill people in a little more on who will be on the webinar next week Thursday the 18th. Drew Dominguez has been haunting since the 1990. Like most of us he started as a home haunter doing a pirate graveyard. From there he moved on to a professional level position. His first position was with Knotts Scary Farm located in Buena Park, California. He worked as lead sculptor and designer during 96 and worked on the following at the haunt:
- Nightmares
- Bigfoots Revenge
- Carnival of fear
- Ghosttown Dead and Breakfast
- Caverns of Carnage
- Dominion of the Dead
- Curse of the Werewolf
- Camp Gonnagetcha
- Industrial Evil
- House of Maniacs
- Toon Terrortory
Then in 97 he moved on to more work with Knotts Scarry Farm working as lead prop tech, designer, efx, and animations. During 1997 Drew also worked at Fright Fair doing design, props and EFX. The following are what he worked on that year:
- Nightmares
- Bigfoots Revenge
- Ghosttown Dead and Breakfast
- Curse of the Werewolf
- Dominion of the dead
- Underworld Unearthed
- Camp Gonnagetcha
- The Underground
- XXV 25 Years of Fears Tribute maze
- The Inquisition
Then in 1998 he went to Fresno, CA where he spent the most part of the next 10 years working haunts with a few trips to other areas scattered in during that time frame. His positions varied and covered every aspect of a haunt from designer, builder, props, animations and sound and lighting to promotion and marketing– Wild Scary Adventures..Fresno,Ca. Waterpark Haunt..
In 2009 Drew headed to Northern California to consult on another haunted house. During this time he assisted in designing, building, painting, lighting, sound, EFX, animations and airbrushing. Then in 2010 he started two haunts of his own, Blind Scream & Doc’s Horrortorium which are located in Santa Rosa, CA. This is his current home where he acts as owner and operator on top of all the other positions he has held before. He still does consulting work and also builds for other haunts. This year he is doing work for Six Flags in Vallejo, CA so his experience continues to grow.
You can see his full resume on his Facebook page. I highly recommend taking advantage of his knowledge during our upcoming webinar next week. If you have not signed up yet please head over here to get signed up and then submit your questions here. So far we have questions regarding layout, actors and haunt ideas.
