Haunted House Props – Captain Spaulding Animated Prop

When we normally get around to covering a prop for prop of the week it is something you can make yourself or it is something of high quality. In this case this is neither but it is one of those things that you just gotta have because its just one of those awesome haunted house props. If you have seen Rob Zombies movies then you know who Captain Spaulding is. If you have not seen Rob Zombie’s movies then shame on you and you should go rent or buy them now just for ideas sake. Zombie has some great stuff in his movies and really knows how to put forth some good detail. If you want road side freak show with bodies everywhere then you really need to check out his movies.

This Captain Spaulding animated prop stands 6 feet tall and has only a couple lines and only the head and one arm move from what I have seen but man is it just a great novelty item and that is exactly what it is. There is very little use in a pro haunt for a prop like this unless you are planning on setting up a movie room where you have characters and props from horror movies like a little sideshow museum of horror in which case this would fit right in. Otherwise it is not quite the level of detail for a pro haunt but is something you should take a look at and think about just for sake of owning a icon character like this.

Collectable Haunted House Props

These have come out before with characters like Leather Face and Jason and I am sure they will keep coming out with great characters like this but keep in mind this things are usually only out for a short time then once they are not longer made that’s it and you can not get a hold of them later and will have to keep eyes out for auctions and random sale of them from people who no longer want them but from the few people I have talked to that have the older ones they are like collectors items because you can not buy them anywhere and its hell tracking them down so this is one of those great haunted house props to get just to have.
